Intercargo Scandinavia is an international transportation and logistics company with decades of experience moving temperature-controlled goods across Scandinavia and Northern Europe — from chilled food and high-value cargo to general freight.
With a fleet of trucks running fixed routes and a wide range of variables to manage — ferry crossings, fuel prices, continuous registrations and multi-step approval flows in their transport system — the company’s office team spent a significant portion of each day on manual, repetitive data entry. The work was necessary, but it was not the best use of their time.

The solution: four RPA robots integrated into daily operations
Intercargo was already working with ECIT as their external IT department, so when the need for process automation became clear, the conversation happened naturally. ECIT introduced robotic process automation (RPA) as a solution — and the partnership expanded from IT support into intelligent workflow automation.

Today, four RPA robots run seamlessly alongside Intercargo’s team — handling data entry, approvals, price updates and invoice generation that previously required hours of manual effort each day. Crucially, the robots don’t keep office hours. They run overnight, meaning tasks initiated at the end of one working day are completed and ready to act on the next morning.
